What's in it for you?
Hello. 👋
Welcome to The Learning Culture Letter.
I’m grateful to have you here, reading this.
This newsletter is my forcing function to learn in public
.I’m doing this for me, but if you choose to follow along, there are three things in it for you.
So what am I learning?
I’ll be using this write-and-publish habit to develop and more deeply understand a framework I created for cultivating learning culture inside companies.
It’s called the VASE Framework.
These four pillars constitute the unique consulting approach we’ve developed at Curious Lion to do things like this:
Transform the learning cultures of companies like Pinterest, PagerDuty, Brex, and Bolt.
Architect a sales enablement program for a listed business-process outsourcing company.
Create from scratch a transformational curriculum for the delivery executives of the same company.
Design a front office transformation program for account teams at a multinational professional services firm.
I formalized this approach at the beginning of this year.
A year in which we’ve grown revenue 3x the average annual revenue of the last three years.
We’re on to something.
It’s helped us unlock the power of Cohort Learning Experiences.
But I’m nowhere near done understanding this approach.
We never really are, if we adopt the mindset of the lifelong learner.
So here we are, me writing and you reading: The Learning Culture Letter.
So what’s in it for you?
If you’re curious about how people learn, how to teach anything, how company culture works, or how to build teams of continuous lifelong learners, then you’ll learn along with me.
If you have thoughts, opinions, or questions, there is a feature to leave a comment on these posts. Please do. You’ll help me shape the direction we head with this.
If you do add your voice to the community, you’ll find the others like you, and who knows what serendipity lies in store there.
So what’s next?
I have a rough idea of how I’m going to approach this.
I have a curriculum outline drafted for a Cohort Learning Experience we’re launching in June. I’ll start there, and build the content for that program in public, with your help hopefully.
I’ll discuss these ideas on The Learning Culture Podcast too, so do join us there.
Soon, I may start featuring the work of friends in the Creator Economy, from whom I learn so much every day.
I’m happy you’re reading this, and I’m excited to have you along for the ride.
Buckle up, the future of learning at work beckons.
Want to get a head-start?
I wrote five posts earlier this year that will give you a good lay of the land.
Something Needs To Change - part 1 of a series on a new role for companies: Learning Culture Officer.
What The Future Looks Like - part 2 of the series.
The Times, They Are ‘A Changing - part 3 of the series.
The Shining Culture On A Hill - part 4 of the series.
The Fifth Discipline - my summary of Peter Senge’s book (which changed everything for me).
For the best explanation of what it means to learn in public I’ve ever read, check out this short 2018 post from swyx.
Congrats Andrew! What an exciting way to bridge the creator economy with learning at work. I look forward to learning more with you!
