Hello. π
Welcome to The Learning Culture Letter.
Iβm grateful to have you here, reading this.
This newsletter is my forcing function to learn in public1.
Iβm doing this for me, but if you choose to follow along, there are three things in it for you.
So what am I learning?
Iβll be using this write-and-publish habit to develop and more deeply understand a framework I created for cultivating learning culture inside companies.
Itβs called the VASE Framework.
These four pillars constitute the unique consulting approach weβve developed at Curious Lion to do things like this:
Transform the learning cultures of companies like Pinterest, PagerDuty, Brex, and Bolt.
Architect a sales enablement program for a listed business-process outsourcing company.
Create from scratch a transformational curriculum for the delivery executives of the same company.
Design a front office transformation program for account teams at a multinational professional services firm.
I formalized this approach at the beginning of this year.
A year in which weβve grown revenue 3x the average annual revenue of the last three years.
Weβre on to something.
Itβs helped us unlock the power of Cohort Learning Experiences.
But Iβm nowhere near done understanding this approach.
We never really are, if we adopt the mindset of the lifelong learner.
So here we are, me writing and you reading: The Learning Culture Letter.
So whatβs in it for you?
If youβre curious about how people learn, how to teach anything, how company culture works, or how to build teams of continuous lifelong learners, then youβll learn along with me.
If you have thoughts, opinions, or questions, there is a feature to leave a comment on these posts. Please do. Youβll help me shape the direction we head with this.
If you do add your voice to the community, youβll find the others like you, and who knows what serendipity lies in store there.
So whatβs next?
I have a rough idea of how Iβm going to approach this.
I have a curriculum outline drafted for a Cohort Learning Experience weβre launching in June. Iβll start there, and build the content for that program in public, with your help hopefully.
Iβll discuss these ideas on The Learning Culture Podcast too, so do join us there.
Soon, I may start featuring the work of friends in the Creator Economy, from whom I learn so much every day.
Iβm happy youβre reading this, and Iβm excited to have you along for the ride.
Buckle up, the future of learning at work beckons.
Want to get a head-start?
I wrote five posts earlier this year that will give you a good lay of the land.
Something Needs To Change - part 1 of a series on a new role for companies: Learning Culture Officer.
What The Future Looks Like - part 2 of the series.
The Times, They Are βA Changing - part 3 of the series.
The Shining Culture On A Hill - part 4 of the series.
The Fifth Discipline - my summary of Peter Sengeβs book (which changed everything for me).
For the best explanation of what it means to learn in public Iβve ever read, check out this short 2018 post from swyx.
Congrats Andrew! What an exciting way to bridge the creator economy with learning at work. I look forward to learning more with you!
